Dr. Md. Jillur Hasan is committed not only to patient care but also to advancing the field of orthopedic surgery through research and scholarly contributions. His published work addresses key areas of trauma surgery, joint repair, and pediatric orthopedics, contributing to the growing body of medical knowledge in these areas. Below is a selection of his most notable publications and ongoing research.

Published Articles

1. Assessing the Efficacy of Arthroscopic Bankart Repair for Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation

  • Journal: ACTA SCIENTIFIC ORTHOPAEDICS
  • DOI:31080/ASOR.2023.06.0797
  • Authorship: Main Author

Summary: This study evaluates the success rate and outcomes of arthroscopic Bankart repair in patients with recurrent shoulder dislocation. The findings suggest that this minimally invasive surgery offers significant improvements in joint stability and patient satisfaction.

2. Demographic Study of Trauma Patients at NITOR

  • Journal: The Journal of Bangladesh Orthopedic Society
  • Authorship: Co-Author

Summary: This research explores the demographic patterns of trauma patients treated at the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR). The study highlights the most common types of trauma cases, their causes, and the challenges in managing these cases in a resource-limited setting.

3. Giant Cell Tumour Distal Radius in Patient with Functional Outcome after Reconstruction by En-Bloc Resection and Non-Vascularized Fibular Bone Graft: A Case Report

  • Journal: Journal of Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
  • Authorship: Author
  • ISSN: 2588-5115
  • Volume: 6, Insue-4 (2024)
  • Published: October 23, 2024

Summary: Giant cell tumour of the distal radius is the 3rd most common site after proximal tibia and distal femur. It is locally aggressive and is associated with a high rate of recurrence. Although it is usually treated with various modalities of treatment, wide resection and reconstruction with proximal fibular autograft is most commonly accepted in recurrent cases. The following is a case report of such a case with surgical management.

Ongoing Research Projects:

1. Advanced Techniques in Pelvic and Acetabular Fracture Management

Dr. Hasan is currently conducting research on improved surgical techniques for managing complex pelvic and acetabular fractures. The goal of this research is to develop minimally invasive approaches that reduce recovery time while maintaining high levels of accuracy in bone alignment.

2. Long-Term Outcomes of Joint Replacement Surgeries in Developing Countries

This research project aims to track the long-term success of joint replacement surgeries, particularly in resource-constrained environments like Bangladesh. The study will focus on patient mobility, durability of implants, and post-operative care challenges unique to developing countries.

Research Interests

Dr. Hasan’s research interests align with his clinical work, focusing on the following key areas:
  • Trauma Surgery: Improving surgical techniques for managing complex fractures and trauma cases.
  • Joint Replacement: Developing more effective, minimally invasive methods for hip and knee replacements.
  • Pediatric Orthopedics: Studying better ways to treat orthopedic conditions in children, including fractures and congenital issues.
  • Sports Injuries: Exploring innovative, minimally invasive treatments for sports-related injuries to help athletes recover faster and more effectively.

Closing Note: Dr. Md. Jillur Hasan is committed to not only providing excellent patient care but also to contributing to the global orthopedic community through continuous research and education. His work aims to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of orthopedic surgery.
